Description

Old Hill Ranch is possibly the oldest continuously-farmed vineyard in California. It was established in 1852 by William McPherson Hill who was the first viticulturist to import non-Mission grapes into Sonoma. Hill sold most of his land in 1898 except for this last remaining 40-acre parcel. 12 acres were replanted in 1885. Hill’s son, Robert Potter Hill, managed Old Hill until 1960. Old Hill is a dry-farmed, certified organic field blend. Managed by Will Bucklin and owned by Anne Teller of Oak Hill Farm.
