Old Hill Ranch is possibly the oldest continuously-farmed vineyard in California. It was established in 1852 by William McPherson Hill who was the first viticulturist to import non-Mission grapes into Sonoma. Hill sold most of his land 1898 except for this last remaining 40 acre parcel of which 12 acres were replanted in 1885. Hill’s son, Robert Potter Hill, managed Old Hill until 1960. Old Hill is a dry-farmed, certified organic field blend. Managed by Will Bucklin and owned by Anne Teller of Oak Hill Farm.
