- Description
-
The vineyard – a remnant of a once larger one – was planted around 1900 before being taken over years later by a retired Swiss immigrant dairyman named John Valsecchi (pronounced Valsecky).
Today, the vineyard is still in the same family and is looked after by Valsecchi’s grandson and home winemaker Ron Mick. The uniqueness of Valsecchi is enhanced by the fact that it is the oldest vineyard in the Carneros Appellation and one of the cool-climate district’s few Zinfandel vineyards.
