- Description
-
The vineyard, a remnant of a once larger one, was planted around 1900 then taken over years later by a retiring Swiss immigrant dairyman named John Valsecchi (pronounced Valsecky). Today, the vineyard is still in the same family and is looked after by Valsecchi’s grandson, Ron Mick, a home winemaker. The uniqueness of Valsecchi is enhanced by the fact that it is the oldest vineyard in the Carneros Appellation and one of the cool district’s few Zin vineyards.
