- Description
-
Planted by patriarch Jack Henry Lauchland and his five daughters in the early 1960s. Jack was a hard working man who valued the worth in everything, including a bent nail (he would hammer it back to usefulness). His resourceful ethic drove him to see the value in this Bermudagrass covered parcel of land, planting what would become a family legacy. All five daughters worked in the field until the Zinfandel vines thrived and the invasive Bermudagrass was a distant memory. Eventually they triumphed to enjoy this vineyard that still persists today.
- Facts
-
The house within the 20-acre parcel block was a tuberculosis hospital in the early 1900s. The home has been a private residence for many years since but remains of historical significance.
